Illinois PTA honors Hoffman Estates principal

Amanda Stochl, principal of Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54's Lincoln Prairie School in Hoffman Estates, has been named the Illinois PTA Outstanding Principal of the Year.

Stochl was nominated by the Lincoln Prairie Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).

"I cannot express how honored I feel to have been chosen for this award," Stochl said. "Strong parent-school partnerships are the foundation of school success. I feel fortunate to work in an environment that honors that relationship."

Stochl's nomination referenced her daily support of students, advocacy for families in the community, weekly communications with the PTSA newsletter, influence on other teachers and the PTSA itself.

Stochl will receive a plaque during a presentation April 2 at the Illinois PTA Convention in Springfield.
