Car crashes into animal hospital in Palatine

A car crashed into Hilltop Animal Hospital in Palatine Friday morning, resulting in a non-life-threatening injury for one occupant of the vehicle - but no other people or animals were hurt.

The business was closed while the car was being removed from the animal hospital's waiting room and the stability of the building assessed.

Paramedics received the call to the business at 597 W. Lake-Cook Road at 10:40 a.m. Though the initial report indicated possible entrapment, both adult occupants had already exited the vehicle when help arrived.

The injured occupant was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights for treatment.

Temporary shoring was installed to support the corner of the building's roof until permanent repairs can be made.

The collision remains under investigation by Palatine police and no citations had been issued as of Friday night.
