Winter Wonders included springlike temperatures in Campton Hills
Winter wasn't so wonderful Saturday at the second annual Winter Wonders celebration in Campton Hills, but that didn't keep anyone from having a flurry of good fun.
The cure for the winter blahs included a blast of unusually warm weather reaching into the mid 50s and an entire smorgasbord of things to do at the Campton Township Community Center
Children and adults were kept busy with both indoor and outdoor activities including: Ann Brach-Johnson, noted Campton Hills author, reading from her children's book, "Angie of Garfield Farm"; artist Val Peroni painting scenes on windows; and Jack Shouba, a local naturalist, leading nature walks. And plenty of outdoor activities for children and adults such as the snowman target throw, nature scavenger hunt and s'mores.
The event was hosted by the Village of Campton Hills Community Relations Committee.
