Glenbard speaker to offer suggestions for talking to teens

Have you ever wished for the secrets to successful communication with your student or the tools to help your teen open up?

In the next Glenbard Parent Series: Navigating Healthy Families event, "Helping Adults Understand Teens and Teens Understand Themselves," author and television personality Josh Shipp will provide the strategies parents need to engage, support and motivate their children.

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in the auditorium at Glenbard North High School, 990 N. Kuhn Road, Carol Stream. Admission is free.

Shipp's personal story and life-changing message have reached parents, educators, mental health professionals and millions of teens. As the author of "The Teen's Guide to World Domination" and "Jump Ship: Turn Your Passion into a Profession," Shipp helps young people learn valuable life skills.

Combining humor and real-world experience, Shipp shares five mistakes parents unknowingly make and practical strategies to drive positive changes in their kids. It's a message from someone who's been there and wants parents to feel empowered and teens to succeed.
