Aurora man charged with 7-Eleven robbery

A 23-year-old Aurora man has been charged with aggravated robbery and is being held in DuPage County jail on $150,000 bond in connection with the Jan. 24 robbery of a 7-Eleven gas station convenience store on the 600 block of South Frontenac, authorities said Thursday.

Aurora police said Nikko Tooley of the 1000 block of North Farnsworth Avenue was arrested Wednesday thanks to an alert Batavia officer, who made a traffic stop on Tooley's vehicle and remembered the description of the suspect vehicle from the 7-Eleven robbery.

The Batavia officer notified Aurora police and a detective responded to the scene of the traffic stop and found evidence consistent with the items worn by the suspect at the robbery.

Tooley was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Police said the robbery occurred about 6:45 a.m. Jan. 24 when Tooley entered the store, displayed a replica handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

No one was injured.
