Join Feb. 3 fundraiser for former Leyden student

A benefit for Gregory Morgan (Class of 2008), former Leyden student and member of the district's choral groups, will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the auditorium at West Leyden High School, 1000 N. Wolf Road in Northlake.

Morgan is battling sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma. He was diagnosed while living in Seattle, but wanted to continue his fight close to his family in Chicago. He arrived home on Jan. 31. The cost to transport him via a specialized medical flight and ambulance was $35,000. The benefit is being held to help the family defray the cost of transportation.

The fundraiser is being hosted by alumni and friends of the Leyden choirs, and will be an all-request based live dance party with professional dueling piano players who will take requests, everything from rock to pop, hip hop to country and rap to jazz.

Admission is $5 students, $10 for adults. For more information, contact (847) 451-5746 and scunningham@leyden212.org.
