Glenbard East to present 'The Three Sisters'

Glenbard East High School theater students are preparing to present Anton Chekhov's classic drama "The Three Sisters," about a Russian family in transition.

Olga, Masha and Irina find their small-town lives mundane and hopeless. When their brother marries a local woman, the sisters' lives are turned upside-down, leaving them to further question their place in the world.

The play is performed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday, Feb. 3 to 6, at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St., Lombard.

Cast members include Maggie Joyce, Amanda O'Brien, Maya Ogolini, Nick Karris, Cassie Piper, Sam Batjes, Joe Ruppenthal, Chris Turner, Nico Colangelo, Connor Kamradt, Eden Dolinski, Serenity Brame, Will Wightkin and Sam Hoey.

The assistant director/stage manager is Alex Stratton. The crew heads are Renatta Leighton, Tay Roylance, Deven Majcan, Sierra Innis, Jaycie Griffin, Georgia Novak and Helen Zguri.

Tickets for "The Three Sisters" are $7 and are available by calling (630) 424-6640, purchasing them at Glenbard East before and after school or during lunch periods, or buying them at the door on the evening of the performance.

Upcoming productions are "In the Time of the Butterflies" and "The White Rose" on March 16 and 17 as part of the Studio Theatre Series, and the Advanced Acting Class' studio production is on April 13.
