Shelter, Inc. Thrift Shop to hold grand reopening

Shelter, Inc. announced the "Grand Reopening" of its Thrift Shop, 622 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

During the first month of January, the Thrift Shop received a facelift thanks to the help of Shelter's Associates Board and volunteers. The new and improved thrift shop will provide customers with a pleasurable shopping experience and showcase its merchandise.

A Grand Reopening Celebration is planned for Saturday Jan. 30. Festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with a discount for customers who bring in items to donate, special sales and raffle prizes. The celebration will continue from 4-7 p.m. with food, drink, raffle prizes and more.

Shelter, Inc. is a nonprofit child welfare agency that protects abused and neglected children and adolescents by providing foster care, emergency and longer-term group home services in a safe and caring environment.

Healthy Families Program provides home visits to first-time parents emphasizing children's well-being and positive parenting. Increased public awareness concerning child abuse, neglect and other social problems directly impacting children and their families is accomplished through Shelter's Community Education program.
