Bartlett Library hosted Renovation Celebration

The Bartlett Public Library District hosted a Renovation Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Renovation Celebration kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony, where State Senator Thomas Cullerton, State Representative Christine Winger, Mark Kirk's Outreach Coordinator Mark Dietzen, Bartlett Library Board President Dave Barry and Bartlett Library Director Karolyn Nance gave opening remarks.

"Everyone has been so amazing and understanding through this process," Nance said about all involved with the renovations. "And I am able to say that it was worth the wait."

Following the ceremony, attendees were able to walk through the new areas of the Bartlett Library, which include the "New!" area, Teen Space, East & West Conference Rooms, Contemplation Garden, Art Room, Quiet Room and Study Rooms.

Set around the new areas were local sponsors such as Dogfather Hotdogs, Smokin' Pitt BBQ, Jewel-Osco, Subway, The Still Bar and Grill, 2Toots Train Whistle Grill, Pasta Mia, Marco's Pizza, Bartlett's Candy House, Costco Wholesale and O'Hare's Pub and Restaurant.

Additional sponsors for the event were Home Depot, Classic Cinemas and Lynfred Winery.

A total of 966 people were at the Bartlett Library that day. Those attendees were able to play games and sign up for their chance to win grand prize raffles. The children were happy when Curious George made multiple appearances throughout the Library.

There was plenty for people to do at the Renovation Celebration. Be on the lookout for the Bartlett Library's next big event!
