Rotering can help bring change to Congress

I have learned after a 40-year career in municipal governments that local officials must solve a broad range of problems from police, fire and public works issues to being arbitrators to neighbor's disagreements. When friends ask why I am now supporting Nancy Rotering's campaign for Congress, I respond to change the culture in Washington we must send qualified leaders to Congress.

Nancy has the broad experiences needed to bring that change. Nancy is intelligent, experienced, and tested in politics: She has a degree in economics from Stanford, an MBA from Northwestern, and a law degree from the University of Chicago. She gained corporate experience working for General Motors and practiced law with McDermott, Will & Emery, a large Chicago law firm.

And most importantly, as a two-term Mayor of Highland Park she has experience in municipal government. The City of Highland Park with Nancy's leadership passed a gun control law that has stood up in the courts. She is a problem solver and is responsive to the public's needs.

Without a doubt, Nancy can bring about change in Congress. I urge my fellow residents of the 10th Congressional District to join me in voting for Nancy Rotering, Democratic candidate in the upcoming March primary.
