Anytime Fitness seeks Hoffman Estates site

Hoffman Estates officials Monday will consider a special-use permit for a 24-hour Anytime Fitness health club to operate at 2571 W. Golf Road in the Hoffman Village Shopping Center.

Village board members could vote on the permit during their meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at Hoffman Estates village hall, 1900 Hassell Road.

If approved, the fitness center would be located between Bentley's Barkery and Mariano's in the shopping center.

The business would typically be staffed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., but members would have a key card to enter the building outside those hours. Anytime Fitness officials previously told the village's planning and zoning commission that they have a rigorous security protocol that has worked well at its more than 2,000 locations across the country.
