Go Red Total Makeover Call for Nominations

44 million women in the U.S. are affected by heart disease and stroke and each of them have a story to tell. The American Heart Association's Go Red For Women® movement will host a Go Red Total Makeover on Saturday, February 6 at Macy's Woodfield in Schaumburg from 2PM to 4PM to spotlight one local heart-healthy woman who is in the process of making herself over from the inside out.

Nominees should be a female resident within the community or surrounding area and have taken action to improve her heart health. The heart-healthy makeover recipient will receive a $500 Macy's gift card at the Go Red Total Makeover event, and additionally, will participate in local media and in-studio interviews.

Nominations may be submitted to Go Red For Women through January 24th by sending an email directly to: goredtotalmakeover-chicago@heart.org. Self-nominations are accepted.

Macy's joined the Go Red For Women movement in the fight against women's No.1 killer over a decade ago as a founding national sponsor and since then Go Red For Women has saved more than 685,000 lives. The Go Red Total Makeover is an exciting new initiative that not only spotlights success in becoming heart-healthy but also has the potential to save even more lives through onsite education and inspiring action by scheduling a Well-Woman Visit today.

A single Well-Woman Visit can give a head-to-heart-to-toe view of a woman's overall health. The visit is a scheduled prevention check-up to review a woman's overall health so her doctor can measure blood pressure, check cholesterol and look for signs of heart disease, stroke and other illnesses.

Each Go Red Total Makeover attendee will receive an event passport to be stamped at heart-healthy stations throughout the store offering access to medical experts, heart-healthy tips on physical activity and nutrition, and more fun activities and giveaways. A completed event passport, or one receiving all of the Go Red Total Makeover event's station stamps, will qualify its holder to be entered into a drawing for a $250 Macy's gift card.

The Go Red Total Makeover coincides with Macy's annual Go Red with Macy's event where customers receive an extra discount storewide by wearing red or purchasing a red dress pin for $3 in-store. 100% of all red dress pin sales will benefit Go Red For Women.

The American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement is nationally sponsored by Macy's, with additional support from our cause supporter, University Chicago Medicine.
