Police investigate armed robbery at Waukegan liquor store

Waukegan police are investigating an armed robbery and shooting at a liquor store from last weekend.

According to a news release, a store clerk at Big Daddy's Liquors, 2811 Grand Ave., said that as he was closing up the store on Sunday and man entered and demanded money.

A surveillance video shows the robber fired one bullet during the crime, which hit a cooler in the store. The clerk was not injured, police said.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the suspect fled on foot. He is still considered armed and dangerous, according to the release.

Police described the man as being black, 5'10” with a medium build wearing a black leather coat, jeans and a yellow cloth around his face.
