Schaumburg defers hearing on division of Motorola site

A public hearing on the proposed subdivision of Motorola Solutions' Schaumburg campus - originally scheduled for the village's zoning board of appeals meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday - will be deferred to the same time on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at village hall, 101 Schaumburg Court.

Motorola Solutions is planning to divide its 277-acre campus into five parcels to accommodate the possibility of individual sales. But the communications equipment manufacturer intends to lease back enough space for 1,600 employees to continue to perform engineering, research/development and office work at the site.

The public hearing was rescheduled to allow village staff more time to coordinate with Motorola Solutions on issues pertaining to future right-of-way and green space areas.
