Gliniewicz hearing delayed
A hearing on the release of money to the family of Fox Lake Police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz was delayed until Feb. 2. The Lake County State's Attorney's Office froze several of Melodie Gliniewicz's personal bank accounts in November due to an ongoing criminal investigation into an embezzlement investigation involving her husband, who authorities said killed himself in September. Authorities said Charles Gliniewicz killed himself to cover up the embezzlement of funds from the Fox Lake Law Enforcement Explorer Post. No charges have been filed against Melodie Gliniewicz or other family members. The state previously released about $37,600 from frozen accounts to the Gliniewicz family in previous hearings.
