Palatine to host first downtown plan meeting

Palatine residents will get a chance to learn about and give input on the new plan for the village's downtown during a community workshop next week.

The new plan, which will cost $100,000 to complete, is a joint effort between the village and the Regional Transportation Authority. The RTA is paying for $80,000 of the project.

The plan's aim is to identify ways to improve access to public transportation in the downtown while attracting residential and commercial development.

The first community workshop will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday January 13, at the American Legion, 122 W. Palatine Road in Palatine.

Residents can find out more about that plan and fill out a survey about it at www.palatinedowntowntod.com.
