Batavia woman scares off attacker
A Batavia woman was assaulted outside her apartment door in a complex on Batavia's west side, police say.
The woman, 42, told police she encountered a man at about 4:45 a.m. in the lobby of her apartment building in the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle.
The man attempted conversation with the woman, and when she refused to speak to him, he followed her to her apartment door where a short struggle happened, police said. She fought back, scaring him off, police said.
The suspect is described as a black man, 35 to 40 years old, clean-shaven, wearing a black or navy coat and dark pants.
A search of the area did not locate the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Batavia police at (630) 454-2500.
