Encourage adoption, not abortion
With regard to the opinion: "Personal stake might shape abortion views" by Joyce Lee, Mundelein, published Dec. 13: Adoption lists could qualify for the "list" mentioned therein.
We believe human life is sacred and should be afforded dignity. Adoption rather than abortion should be encouraged.
Usually the aborted cannot speak for themselves, but we read an interview some nine years ago about Gianna Jessen, who was 29 at the time. The article revealed she was born in a California abortion clinic when her birth mother was seven months pregnant. The abortionist was not on duty. A nurse called an ambulance and had her transported to a hospital.
She weighed 2 pounds and was not expected to live. She had many health problems. At the time of the interview, she was a speaker, singer/songwriter and writer. Her message to young people was to value other people and themselves enough to have standards, to be able to take a stand without wavering, to be a culture changer.
