Des Plaines residents can learn how to start a business

The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free Entrepreneur's Boot Camp for Des Plaines residents interested in opening a business.

The purpose of the program is not only to recruit new businesses, but to ensure business success through education, mentoring and networking, officials said.

An informational session is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Des Plaines Public Library. The boot camp itself will be eight sessions starting Feb. 10 and continuing each consecutive Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the chamber office. Topics will include how to write a business plan, financing, legal issues, accounting/insurance and marketing/social media.
