Portion of Elgin's State Street closed after vehicle hits electric pole

A portion of State Street in Elgin is closed after a vehicle struck an electric pole around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Elgin police say.

Elgin police and fire crews are on the scene of the one-vehicle crash on the 500 block of South State Street. State Street remains closed between Route 20 and Dana Drive while crews clean up the electrical wires and investigate the crash.

It is unknown if there are any injuries.
