Taxi driver cited after striking homeless man near Schaumburg

A taxi driver was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian after striking a 35-year-old homeless man at 6:14 a.m. Monday at the corner of Central and Roselle roads near Schaumburg.

The man who was hit declined further medical attention after being examined by paramedics at the scene, according to Cook County sheriff's officials.

The taxi driver is a 35-year-old Schaumburg man, while the homeless man had a last known address in Palatine, authorities said.
