Fix hiring process to fix police problems
Many police officers are receiving bad press. From embezzlement to murder investigations, their careers and reputations are hanging by a thread.
When well known Police Officer Joseph Gliniewicz's suddenly staged suicide surfaced, the communities of northern Illinois were stunned. How can a man that was cherished and loved by many secretly betray everyone who respected him?
There needs to be a change within the police departments that creates and establishes honesty, trust, and most importantly, respect. To accomplish these key goals, the police departments must increase their demands for admittance into their force. In order to receive excellence, they must demand excellence.
Police officials must reprimand the current admittance requirements and treat the police force admittance process as if it is a military boot camp and then some. Police officers never have a break, and it is important to find men and women that are stable, honest and ready to work at any point.
The many shameful news articles will not change if there is not a change in the hiring of police officers.
