Santa, reindeer visit Lisle

There's a lot you can say about Santa.

It's a good bet he knows more about you than the NSA.

He might want to listen to his doctors a little more when it comes to reducing his cookie and candy cane intake.

And when he kisses his wife goodbye and tells her he's going to have a busy day at work, well, he means a really busy day at work.

But all that pales in comparison to this simple fact: The man really gets around. And he uses more modes of transportation than Phileas Fogg in "Around the World in 80 Days," possibly because he's got to make his trip in just one night.

Visitors to Lisle were reminded of all that over the weekend when the village spent two days celebrating Once Upon A Christmas, and Santa found himself riding a hay wagon in a parade, jumping on a train to the North Pole and hanging out with the reindeer who pull his sleigh.

He also checked out the village's tree-lighting ceremony and luminaria display on Saturday, listened to some music both days and - when he finally got a chance to sit for a minute - found a line of kids waiting to plop down on his lap.

There's a lot you can say about Santa, but here's what he'd probably like to say to you: There are just 18 more days until Christmas and that's when this Jolly Old Elf is going to hop a flight home (On Dasher! On Dancer!) and finally get some rest.

Ho. ho, ho indeed.
