Finding the blame in McDonald case

Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez has to be removed. Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy was obviously a scapegoat. The protesters got it wrong.

He was not the one that had possession of the video for a year and wanted to withhold it from the public - Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Alvarez did.

Your article was dead right. I was also glad you mentioned the fact that Laquon Mcdonald's mother, who was never there for her son, was rewarded with $5 million. That alone should speak volumes as to the guilt of the officer. Who pays out $5 million without any litigation?

The money could have gone to improve the poorly staffed social workers who most likely did not have the resources to help this child and others like him.

Lastly, the fact that eight other officers were on the scene and did not feel threatened or the need to protect Van Dyke says more than the video could.
