Man hospitalized after being hit by car in Mount Prospect

A man was hospitalized Friday night after he was hit by a car in Mount Prospect, police said.

The man was crossing Golf Road at Can-Dota Avenue about 5 p.m. when a vehicle traveling east hit him, officials said. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for his injuries. The driver stayed on the scene.

So far, no citations have been issued; police say the crash is still under investigation.

Golf Road was closed after the accident, and it reopened later in the evening, according to the Mount Prospect Fire Department, but reopened later in the evening.
