Nominations needed for Batavia Citizen of the Year

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2015 Citizen of the Year to be honored at the Annual Inspire Awards Friday, Jan. 29, 2016.

Being named Citizen of the Year is one of the most distinguished honors given to a resident.

Citizens can be nominated by anyone willing to write a letter to the chamber explaining why the person they are nominating deserves the honor. Nominees must either live or work in Batavia and have made an extraordinary contribution to the community, outside of the responsibilities of their primary employment. Nominees do not have to be a chamber member to be considered.

Nominations must be received in the chamber office by Friday, Dec. 4. Nominations must be in writing and can be emailed to Holly Deitchman at holly@bataviachamber.org, or mailed to the Batavia Chamber of Commerce, 106 W. Wilson St., Batavia, IL 60510.

For information, call the Batavia Chamber of Commerce at (630) 879-7134.
