State is not governor's plaything

Before entering public service. Governor Rauner's business was private equity. The private equity model is to buy and sell companies. They make profits by reducing the target company's costs and obligations, for example by closing down operations, taking money out of pension funds, going through bankruptcy, reducing salaries, breaking union contracts, and laying off people.

Somebody ought to explain to Governor Rauner that he doesn't own the state of Illinois. He isn't free to reduce the pensions, stiff contractors, cancel union contracts, and discontinue services. It is public equity, not his own plaything.
