Lotus School collects letters for the troops

Submitted by Lotus School

Lotus Elementary School in Spring Grove helped radio station US99.5 with their project to collect 10,000 holiday cards and letters to send to the troops overseas. The cards and letters will be sent to the men and women of the military who will not be home this holiday season.

The response was heartwarming. Lotus School, with a school population of 502, had more than 700 cards and letters to give to US99.5 for the troops. The staff and students were excited to help with this project. Sue Pinkawa, a secretary at the school headed up the project after hearing about it on the radio station.

US99.5 representatives picked up the cards and letters from the school. In all, there were more than 13,000 cards and letters for the troops to be sent out by the radio station.
