River Road in Des Plaines to close Thursday through Saturday
River Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic from Oakton Street to Algonquin Road in Des Plaines from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday to pour new concrete pavement as a part of the ongoing road reconstruction project.
Local traffic will be allowed and access to businesses will be maintained but limited and dependent on the progress of the paving, city officials said.
A detour will be in effect, diverting traffic via Oakton Street to Mannheim Road to Algonquin Road, and residents will have to park their cars on side streets.
