Former Northwestern All-American football player Venric Mark training at TCBoost to make it to the NFL

After Facing Adversity, Venric Mark Determined to Achieve His Dream Venric Mark believes he has an attainable goal. If he is willing to train hard, he will become an NFL football player in 2016. His first step is to learn how to avoid injuries such as those that affected his 2013 and 2014 college football seasons.

TCBOOST Sports Performance a speed, strength and agility Training facility in Northbrook, is training Venric Mark to help him reach his goal of becoming a professional football player. Mark decided to train at TCBOOST when he reconnected with founder and owner Tommy Chrisitan at a Northwestern football practice this past fall. He convinced Mark to come in and see how TCBOOST could help him.

"After seeing the results of my two former Northwestern teammates, Jimmy Hall and Rashad Lawrence, after they put up the best numbers at each of their pro days, I decided this is the place for me," said Mark. "Although I've only been training here for two months, my 40-yard dash time dropped .19 seconds in only five weeks. That's a significant improvement. Each of my training sessions are 90 minutes either three to four times a week."

At TCBOOST, Mark is working on speed development, position specific, agility, power and strength training. He is preparing his body to try out for the NFL or the Canadian Football League in the spring of next year.

"Mark had an outstanding career at Northwestern. As a junior in 2012, he tallied eight 100-yard rushing games. That was the first 1000-yard rushing season for Northwestern since Tyrell Sutton in 2006," said Tommy Chrisitan, founder and owner of TCBOOST. "That season, he also excelled as a punt returner and scored two punt return touchdowns. I believe we can improve his skills to impress the NFL scouts so they realize they could have a great football player on their team."

While at Northwestern, Mark grabbed the attention of the national media. He was named a 2012 All-American first team selection by the Football Writers Association of America, CBS Sports and Sporting News as a punt returner. Following the 2012 Big Ten Conference football season, Mark was a second team All-Big Ten selection as a running back by both the coaches and the media. He was also one of the ten semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, awarded to the best running back.

Then his 2013 season was cut short with an array of injuries. Unfortunately, after being cited for a "violation of team policy," he was suspended for two games in 2014. Because he had personal family issues back home, Mark decided to pursue his football career as a fifth year, red shirt, running back with the Division II 2014 West Texas A&M Buffaloes where he could be close to his mother and grandmother. Mark suffered a left knee meniscus injury, which cut his season short at West Texas A&M.

Now at the age of 24, Mark realizes this is his time. He believes with excellent skills, speed and strength, he will be ready to play professional football.
