Hoffman Estates honors service and sacrifice of veterans

Service and sacrifice were honored Wednesday during Hoffman Estates' annual Veterans Day ceremony at the village's Veterans Memorial.

Mayor William McLeod served as the keynote speaker of the event, which was held to thank and honor those who served honorably in the military, both in wartime and peacetime.

Veterans' Memorial Commission Chairman Les Montag also spoke and the Rev. Alan Eaton, chaplain of the Hoffman Estates Police Department, gave the closing invocation. The ceremony also featured music performed by the Hoffman Estates High School band.
