Mount Prospect adds Outback, Bar 145 to restaurant stock

Mount Prospect's inventory of dining options continued to grow Tuesday as village trustees approved liquor licenses for an Outback Steakhouse in Randhurst Village, and Bar 145 in the former Blues Bar location.

Outback Managing Partner Karl Reschke said ribbon-cutting event for the new restaurant at 909 N. Elmhurst Road is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28.

"I was born and raised in Mount Prospect. I have lived here for the majority of my life," Reschke said. "We couldn't be more excited to bring Outback to Mount Prospect."

Jamie Klug, joint venture partner at Outback, said the restaurant will have a four-season patio that is heated and air-conditioned year-round.

Bar 145 - the name refers to the temperature of a perfectly cooked medium-rare hamburger - is scheduled to open later this year at 34 S. Main St. by Mount Prospect residents Lenny and Deana Rago.

Mayor Arlene Juracek said she is pleased that local residents are opening businesses in the community.

"Nothing speaks so highly of your residents' confidence in the business climate here and the confidence of the village as being willing to open up a restaurant or a business in the village," she said.
