Families flock to downtown Mt. Prospect for annual Fall Fest

Mount Prospect held its annual Fall Fest and Oktoberfest Saturday on Emerson Street and Busse Avenue.

Family-oriented Fall Fest from 1-4 p.m. featured hay rides, pony rides, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, crafts and balloons, stilt walkers and the traditional Never-Ending Trick or Treat Candy Line.

In the evening, the focus turned to adults with Oktoberfest from 4-11 p.m. featuring the Phenix German Band under the heated tent. This is the first year Oktoberfest has gone two nights.

The festival is sponsored by the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association, a nonprofit organization that works to promote the village's downtown area.
