Palatine Jaycees to host STEM fair Thursday

The Palatine Jaycees are hosting a STEM fair at Jane Addams Elementary School Thursday night to encourage children's interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

"The STEM fair is a fun way for the entire family to learn about concepts such as energy, waves, light and optics, electricity and much more." Chrissy Trilling-Raices, chairwoman of the Jaycees' Adopt-a-School Day program, said in a news release. "We are delighted to team up with area businesses and colleges to promote STEM in our grade schools."

Students and family members from area elementary schools are invited to attend the free event, which runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the school, 1020 E. Sayles Drive in Palatine.
