Walker's departure a start for the GOP

Hopefully, Scott Walker dropping out of the Republican presidential campaign is a sign that his brand of KochBrothers-backed, right-wing conservatism is on the wane.

His anti-union, anti-education, anti-environment, anti-just-about-everything platform accomplishes nothing. Trying to balance the budget on the backs of the poor while giving more tax breaks to the rich and superrich has never worked - a lesson that Bruce Rauner has also not learned.

I believe that moderate Democrats would consider, and possibly even support, a moderate Republican, someone willing to work with Democrats in an effort to move the country forward (your opponent cannot always be wrong about everything), but the remaining candidates continue to reject any compromise on the most important issues facing the country, fearing the wrath of the radical conservatives funding their campaigns.

Until they come to this understanding, the Republican Party will continue to be divisive and irrelevant.
