Hanover Twp. Mental Health Board seeks new member

The Hanover Township Mental Health Board is currently accepting applications from residents to fill a vacancy on the board.

The volunteer board awards grants to agencies that serve township residents in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse. Last year, the Mental Health Board awarded approximately $1 million in funding to local agencies providing services and programming to residents.

"This is a great opportunity for residents to serve our community in a meaningful way," said Linda Best, Mental Health Board chairwoman. "A background in mental health is not required to serve on the board. Residents of all professions and backgrounds are encouraged to apply."

Upon completion of the application, candidates will be contacted for an interview. Selected applications will be presented to the township board for approval. Board members must reside in Hanover Township.

Candidates will be applying for an open vacancy on the board, which term expires in 2019. The Mental Health Board meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Town Hall in Bartlett.

Applications can be found and submitted online at www.hanover-township.org or by visiting the Township offices, 250 S. Route 59, in Bartlett.
