No one injured in Round Lake business fire
A fire at Gerber Collision & Glass in Round Lake left Route 120 shut down during the evening rush hour on Wednesday, but no one was injured.
The Round Lake Fire Protection District responded to a fire a the business in the 800 block of West Belvidere Road at 4:30 p.m., and crews were on the scene for nearly three hours, said Capt. Pat Walker.
Firefighters found flames coming out of a booth where a customer would pull in a car to be painted. Walker said there was smoke damage to one of the garages, but the fire was mostly contained so the business should still be able to operate after repairs.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire. No one was injured.
Route 120 was shut down for several hours while hoses were spread across the roadway to reach the fire, Walker said.
Crews from Fox Lake, Lake Villa, Antioch, Mundelein and Wauconda assisted.
