Schaumburg hosts public safety open house Oct. 3

In recognition of National Crime Prevention Month and National Fire Prevention Week, the Schaumburg Police and Fire departments will be hosting a combined Public Safety Open House on Saturday, Oct. 3.

The open house will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Fire Station 51, 950 W. Schaumburg Road, and the Martin J. Conroy Police Center, 1000 W. Schaumburg Road, along with the parking lot between the two buildings.

There is no cost and residents of all ages are invited to meet firefighters and police officers, have some fun, and obtain valuable safety information.

Among the activities planned: kids can make their own police buttons; police and fire vehicles on display; fire department vehicle extrication demonstration; tour of the police station jail, range, and defensive tactics training area; public utility company displays; and child finger printing.
