500-pound bluefin tuna cutting demonstration in Elk Grove

Tensuke Market & Sushi Cafe at 3 S. Arlington Heights Road in Elk Grove Village will be turning a 500-pound bluefin tuna into sashimi (thin raw fish slices) in its seventh annual cutting demonstration at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. The wild-caught tuna, flown in fresh from Boston, will be cut by Master Chef Hidemi Ikeda, a 40-year veteran of the trade. The cutting takes under an hour to complete.
