Barrington gets past Fremd

Barrington's boys golf team turned back a strong challenge from Fremd at Makray Memorial Golf Club on Tuesday, shooting 153 to get under the Vikings' 159.

Cole Kempinski (37), Tomb Calbi (38) and Burke Barsamian and Tim Lim (39s) led the Broncos.

Fremd's's freshman Colin Robinson tied Kempinski for medalist honors at 37, and the Vikings also counted a 38 from Eric Schaeffer.

• Consistent scores from Prospect resulted in a 169-181 victory over Elk Grove at Mount Prospect Golf Club.

Nick Tenuta (40), Cole Dahlstrom (42) and Robert Garmoe (43) led the way for the Knights, helping them overcome a 37 from Grens senior medalist Jake McEnroe.

• Dan Luhan (1-over 36) and Jack Horan (37) paced a strong effort for Rolling Meadows in a 156-187 victory over Hoffman Estates at Bridges of Poplar Creek. Matt O'Grady (43) and Jimmy Ingolia (44) also counted scores for the Mustangs, while Alex Mayani paced the Hawks with 42.

• Matt Mustari (40) and Troy Johnson (41) led the way as Maine West topped Taft 1691-94 in a nonconference matchup.

• Palatine had the medalist, senior Jack Wiebe (39), also had the low team score (164) in a victory against Buffalo Grove (175) and Wheeling (190).

Chris Fortunato and Mike Vitucci both shot 41 for Palatine, while Wheeling was led by Tyler Testa (43) and Buffalo Grove by Connor Burhop (40).

• Freshman Tim Crawford shot 37 and Matt Wagner and Preston Drebohl came in at 38 to lead the Lions in a 154-186 victory over St. Patrick in East Suburban Catholic Conference play at Old Orchard.
