Palatine woman charged with threatening staff members at Elk Grove school

A Palatine woman accused of threatening to harm the principal and teachers at Salt Creek Elementary School in Elk Grove Village has been charged with disorderly conduct, Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson confirmed Saturday.

Vanessa Clark, 26, was arrested Friday by Elk Grove police after police say she threatened to “get a weapon” and use it on the principal and teachers at the school, Johnson said.

“That's why we took it very seriously,” Johnson said. “There was no weapon at the school. There was no weapon on her at the time of the arrest.”

Police declined to release more details about why the woman threatened school staff members.

Clark posted bond on the misdemeanor charge at the Elk Grove Village police station and was released; she was also ordered not to trespass on school property, Johnson said.

An Elk Grove Elementary School District 59 spokeswoman could not be reached for comment Saturday.
