Aurora man dies after falling off ladder in Glendale Heights

An Aurora man died after falling off a ladder Saturday at a Glendale Heights home, officials said.

Jaroslaw Michalak, 51, had been helping a family member with repairs to a home in the 600 block of Nolan Avenue, according to a news release from the Glendale Heights Police Department.

At around 7:15 p.m., a ladder collapsed beneath Michalak, causing him to fall and hit his head on a concrete patio, police said. He was unresponsive when police arrived, officials said.

Fire officials took Michalak to Adventist GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights, where he died, police said.

Additional information was not available Sunday, police Sgt. Michael Skopek said. An investigation is continuing.
