Man sought after child luring attempt near Glenview

The Cook County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man in connection with a reported child luring attempt near Glenview in unincorporated Cook County, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced in a news release.

The man was driving a four-door, silver Chevrolet Avalanche style vehicle at about 3 p.m. Thursday and approached two, 10-year-old girls who were walking from a school bus stop near Huber and Knollwood lanes, the release said.

He is described as white, in his 20s to 30s, thin build, bald, with a trimmed, reddish beard, and wore a long-sleeved gray T-shirt.

The man waved at one of the girls to come toward him, and the girl did not. The man approached the second girl in his vehicle and motioned her to come toward him, and she didn't do so, either. The man drove away west on Knollwood Lane, the release said.

The vehicle was described as shiny with black wheels and black wall tires, and an open area in the back.

Anyone with information about this person is asked to call Cook County Sheriff's Office at (847) 635-1188.
