Girls golf: Majmudar, Ciskowski lead another Barrington win
Barrington junior Shivani Majmudar and freshman Nicole Ciskowski each shot 76s to lead the pack at the Lake County Invitational on Monday to lift the Fillies to the victory with a score of 313.
The closest pursuer was runner-up Carmel with a 333 at the Bonnie Dundee Golf Club in Carpentersville.
Majmudar (39-37) earned medalist honors over Ciskowski (36-40) by virtue of her lower score on the back nine.
Junior Allie Quinn shot the next lowest score for Barrington with an 82 while freshman teammate Ishani Majmudar rounded out the Fillies' score card with an 83.
It was Barrington's second invite championship of the season. They won their own invite one week earlier with a school record 297 also at Bonnie Dundee.
Fremd d. St. Viator: Haezi Jung (38), Ann Marie O'Sullivan (39), Annie Gao (41), Sophia Metallo (43), Jae Hee Hur (43)
led the scoring for Fremd in a 161-214 win at Palatine Hills (par-36). Susie Carlson led visiting St. Viator with a 47.
Maine West d. Elk Grove: Maine West's Megan Kalinowski shot a 45 to earn medalist honors in a 207-224- victory at Fox Run in Elk Grove (par 35).
Saturday's result: The host Huskies (179) took second place to St. Charles East (176) in their own Hersey Invite held on Saturday at Old Orchard Country Club in Mt Prospect.
Rolling Meadows (222) was eighth in the 12-team tourney.
Hersey senior Lexi Heidkamp took second place with a 39 (she finished all 18 holes to shoot 82). Teammate Megan Kopeny's 40 was good for third place and she also finished all 18 holes for a 77. Because not all golfers completed 18 holes, only their first nine holes were counted in the individual and team standings.
