Village of Palatine Presents Local Non-Profit with Proclamation

Palatine-based non-profit, C.A.T.I.F [Celebrating All That Is Feminine] was presented with a proclamation from the Village of Palatine on Monday, August 17, 2015 during the regular Village Council meeting.

The proclamation was presented by Mayor Jim Schwantz to C.A.T.I.F. Vice President, Lorrene Conino, and highlights the non-profit's fundraising efforts over the last nine years.

The organization has raised nearly $130,000 in funds which were in turn donated to organizations who provide support services to women and children in crisis.

Conino, who also is the owner of Salon Lorrene in Palatine, said it was an honor for the Village to take the time to recognize C.A.T.I.F.'s efforts.

"We continue to host our two major fundraisers each year in order to continue to help fund other non-profits whose mission mirrors that of our own; to encourage and empower women and children in the greater Chicagoland area who are experiencing crisis," Conino said.

C.A.T.I.F.'s end of summer fundraiser, the Family Picnic and Rib Cook-Off will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from noon until 5 p.m. on Station Street in downtown Palatine, in front of Lamplighters.

Admission is free, and food and activity tickets are $1 each.

Sponsorships are also available to be purchased until August 23.
