Mt. Prospect getting closer on hiring a new manager
Six village manager candidates have filed in and out of Mount Prospect'svillage hall, as the village seeks a replacement for longtime former Village Manager Michael Janonis.
"We were scheduled to interview three on Monday, which we did, and we have three more candidates coming in (Wednesday)," Mayor Arlene Juracek said Tuesday. A second round of interviews will be scheduled with a smaller field of semifinalists, "and from there, we hope to begin making our selection," she said.
Juracek would not reveal any names, saying some candidates still have jobs, but added all six are strong.
The village hired recruiter Heidi Voorhees of Northbrook-based GovHR USA for $18,000, which included expenses and advertising costs. Voorhees is a former Wilmette village manager and now teaches at Northwestern University-based programs and elsewhere, as well as being a recruiter.
