Streamwood Police release sketch of cop impersonation suspect

Streamwood Police have developed a composite sketch of the man who a 33-year-old Schaumburg woman said robbed her while posing as a police officer.

The woman told police that in the late afternoon on Aug. 6, she was pulled over on a residential street, Ascot Lane, near Schaumburg Road and Route 59 by an unmarked dark Ford with a red and blue light bar on its dashboard.

She told police the man identified himself as a Streamwood Police Officer and ordered her out of the car, took her purse, and removed an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect was described by the victim as a male Hispanic in his 20s, 6-foot tall, large build, brown eyes and dark hair.

Streamwood Police has asked that anyone with information that might help identify the individual contact the department's tip line at (630) 736-3719.
