Different views of oppression

I have some thoughts in reference to the letter by John S. Strauss on Aug. 2.

It's oppression to make nuns pay for contraceptive drugs when they live a celibate life. It's oppression to fine a bakery $135,000 and force them to close their business because they refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. Surely, it can't be too much trouble for the two men find a another bakery.

When a person purchases a new automobile they receive an instruction manual from the company that manufactured the car. Telling them to read the owner's manual is not oppression. It's the best source of information for operating and maintaining the car.

Since we are made by God, it's not oppression to tell people to read his instruction manual - the Bible.
