Summer Daze closes in Warrenville with cool cars

For fans of classic cars, paradise is a warm summer day, a cold drink and a freshly polished vehicle, hood up to show off that pristine engine, glimmering in the afternoon sun.

Which is why Warrenville's two-day Summer Daze celebration, which ended Saturday night, was the perfect setting for the owners of more than 100 such vehicles to display everything from restored classics to street machines, from muscle cars to motorcycles.

The annual car show always is a highlight of the annual fest, now in its 38th year, that also included plenty of food, music, games, contests and - new this year - carnival rides.

The celebration was sponsored by Warrenville Park District, the city and the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce.
