Rock on: 5 things to do this weekend

This weekend's all about the music in the suburbs, where choices include heavy metal rockers Mötley Crüe, funk band The Commodores, jazz great Ramsey Lewis and homegrown talent competing in Suburban Chicago's Got Talent. Here are five ideas; for more, go to dailyherald.com/calendar.

Once, twice: Take a musical trip back in time with The Commodores, who rose to fame in the 1970s and '80s with songs such as "Easy," "Three Times a Lady" and "Brick House." Vive la France: Say bonjour to French Connection Day Sunday at Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton. The festival celebrates everything French and includes an open-air market, street performers, French fare, music and a 23-foot version of the Eiffel Tower.
